Gamemode 02

Skyblock

Start with almost nothing and grow a floating empire. Invite friends to co-op your island and trade on the player market.

One island, almost nothing, no floor

Skyblock is the purest resource-management challenge Minecraft has. You start on a small floating island with a tiny handful of materials and a void underneath. Every block you eventually own has to be generated, farmed or traded for - and one careless step ends the run.

The early game is all cobblestone generators and careful bucket work. The mid game is about automating the things that were painful, and the late game is about scale: mob farms, sorting systems, and an island that looks nothing like the dirt platform you started on.

Co-op islands

You don't have to grind alone. Invite friends to co-op your island and you share the same build, the same resources and the same progress. Splitting roles - one on farms, one on infrastructure, one on trading - moves things along dramatically faster than playing solo.

The player market

Islands specialise, and that's what makes the market work. Someone with a functioning mob farm has drops to spare; someone with a big smelting array has resources to move. Trading with other players is usually the quickest route past a bottleneck you'd otherwise spend hours grinding.

Challenges

If you'd rather have direction than an open sandbox, the challenge system gives you concrete goals to work through, so there's always an obvious next thing to build toward instead of staring at a cobblestone generator wondering what to do.

Getting started

  1. Join and pick Skyblock from the lobby.
  2. Build a cobblestone generator before you spend anything - it's the engine of the whole mode.
  3. Expand your platform outward and light it up so nothing spawns on you.
  4. Invite a friend to co-op, or start trading on the market once you've got a surplus.
